Frances Connor

Since calling to the Bar in 2002, Frances has been consistently instructed. She has extensive experience of conducting trials and hearings in the High Court of Justiciary. She has been instructed in numerous trials where the charges have included murder, culpable homicide, death by dangerous driving, attempted murder, abduction, rape and other sexual offences, firearms offences, importation of drugs and other drugs offences. In addition she is regularly instructed on behalf of limited companies charged with criminal offences.

Frances is also regularly instructed to represent clients at professional disciplinary proceedings. She has successfully represented numerous clients at lengthy hearings where an individual’s fitness to practice has been challenged, including before the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC), the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC), the General Medical Council (GMC) and the General Teaching Council (GTC). She has also appeared at numerous hearings before the Employment Tribunal.

Frances has extensive experience in Adoption and Children’s Referral Proceedings before the Sheriff in cases involving complex medical evidence, particularly in alleged “shaken baby” cases.
