Lorraine is extensively instructed in both High Court and Sheriff Court cases, regularly conducting cases involving children and other vulnerable witnesses, including sexual crimes and Children’s Referrals.

Lorraine was a member of the Procurator Fiscal service for over 12 years. Drawing upon this experience as a former Principal Procurator Fiscal Depute, she has built up a reputation as a skilled cross examiner, in particular in cases involving allegations of sexual misconduct. She is adept at the handling and interpretation of the psychological and psychiatric records which regularly feature in cases involving allegations of sexual abuse.

Since calling to the Bar, Lorraine has been instructed to defend some of Scotland’s highest profile criminal prosecutions and has a particular interest in Fatal Accident Inquiries arising from deaths in custody.
