Black Chambers, Expert Advocacy

Welcome to Black Chambers. We offer the advocacy skills and experience of many of the leading counsel at the Scottish Bar in the field of criminal law.

We are able to offer you senior and junior counsel of the highest standards, with the greatest expertise in criminal law. Our Stable includes advocates experienced in the most commonly prosecuted High Court crimes as well as specialists in Firearms licensing and prosecutions; Health and Safety prosecutions; public and Fatal Accident Inquiries. We also offer experts in quasi-criminal fields such as Children’s Referrals and professional and regulatory body hearings.

Many of our advocates have built strong working relationships within the Criminal Justice system, having worked with or in Crown Office or the Procurator Fiscal’s service. In practice, that means an enhanced ability to resolve matters without the need for court action, especially in Health and Safety and regulatory matters.
