Tony Lenehan is unique at Faculty in having qualified as an engineer before turning to law.
He is sought after for technical firearms prosecutions and licensing disputes, having a high level of expertise in the field, as well as being a s.1 and s.2 licence holder.
He is particularly well instructed among criminal advocates in the High Court, a testament to his breadth of ability and popularity with both instructing solicitors and clients, and is a veteran of high profile murder trials.
He was formerly president of the Faculty of Advocates Criminal Bar Association and represents Faculty on the High Court Users Group and the Commissions Working Group. He is a regular author and co-author of consultation responses to the Scottish Parliament on matters of criminal law, as well as providing commentary on television, radio and print media on current legal affairs.
In 2024 Tony was elected as Vice Dean of the Faculty of Advocates.
